C-22 is used in severely corrosive media with high chloride and temperature applications such as buffer solutions, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), fabric softeners, cleaning supplies, and fish, soy and chili sauce. 

C-22 is a great alternative when superaustenitic stainless steels (AL-6XN®, 904L, and 254 SMO®) and duplex stainless steels (2205 and 2507) will not withstand extremely aggressive media. This is because it is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with better overall resistance to uniform and localized corrosion than any other Ni-Cr-Mo alloy, like Hastelloy C-276, C-4, and alloy 625.

Super Duplex Stainless Steel S32750 / S32760 Nipple, which has good weldability and post heat treatment of weld areas not required. Being a two – phase material (austenitic – ferritic) Super Duplex S32750 Hexagon Reducing Nipple will present a different tool wear profile from that of single – phase steels of type ASTM 304L. It is recommended that a tougher insert grade is used than when machining austenitic stainless steels, e.g. Super Duplex S32760 Hexagon Nipple, where the cutting speeds must therefore be lower than that recommended for 304L.

Strength to weight ratio is best in titanium Grade 2 of any corrosion-resistant material.
